Thursday was the first day of the Symphony Book and Music Sale. I got some treasures, but need to go back once more as my allergies acted up and I had to cut my browsing short. But even if I don’t find anything else, I’m happy with what I got this year:
The only “for reading” book I bought. I love his sense of humour and his sarcasm and his passionate viewpoints. ($3)
The Womans Library – a set of 5 thin books published in 1922. The Book of Culture, Physical Beauty, How to Prepare and Serve a Meal & Interior Decoration, Color Harmony and Designs in Dress, and (my favourite) Plain Talk on Avoided Subjects. I will share whatever gems of wisdom I find from these in another post. ($5 for the set)
Harvest Gold and Avocado appliances, rifles, typewriters – they’re all in here! I’ll share some pages from this great find in another post as well. ($3)
The only music book I bought, and my most expensive purchase, but I’ve been meaning to buy it for years so finally did. ($15)
I bought 3 records:
And I bought 3 DVDs:
Total cost for the day: $52
The joy it gave me: priceless
