My Inspiration Wall

I just added a new plaque to my inspiration wall. I started my wall when we first moved into this house about three years ago. It’s just stuff that makes me happy, or sane, or calm, or, well, inspired.

Starting in the top left corner and going clockwise, here’s what they are:

  • The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart. (Helen Keller)  (a gift from a beautiful friend)
  • Just Do It  (for the procrastiner in me, not to promote Nike)
  • Creator, Grant me the SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change, the COURAGE to change the things I can, and the WISDOM to know the difference. (this would be the “keeping me sane” one)
  • An inspirational calendar my brother-in-law thought I would like. He was right. July’s sentiment is: A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow. (General George S. Patton)
  • Yes You Can (for when I start doubting myself)
  • Let whatever you do today be enough  (shared with me by a friend who knows me so well)
  • Being happy doesn’t mean everything’s perfect, it means you decide to see beyond the imperfections. (this is the new one I just bought)
  • Leap and the net will appear (from a wise friend)

And in the center is a copy of our wedding invitation:

  • Because you have shared in their lives by your friendship and love, Dianne Klassen and Bill Young invite you to share in their joy as they exchange marriage vows, Saturday, the twenty-sixth of November,  nineteen hundred and eighty-three at four o’clock, Trinity United Church, 3318 Merritt Street, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (because if your best friend doesn’t inspire you, who does?)
